Nutreco aims to ‘feed the future’

Nutreco is a Dutch company and a global leader in animal nutrition and aquafeed. Their advanced nutritional solutions are at the origin of food for millions of consumers worldwide. Nutreco employs over 12,000 people in 35 countries with net sales of € 5.6 billion in 2016. Its two global company brands Skretting (aquafeed) and Trouw Nutrition (animal nutrition) have sales in over 90 countries.

Their growing sustainability programme, Nuterra, aims to tackle the sustainability challenges of food production with a focus on sustainable innovation. Their Nuterra Roadmap has ambitions regarding people, planet and profit in four areas: nutritional solutions, operations, ingredients, and commitment. These ambitions will tackle many challenges including animal health and welfare, the responsible sourcing of ingredients, and community awareness building and development.

 

All in all, Nutreco has taken on the challenge of ‘Feeding the Future’, their mission reflecting the ambition to contribute to producing enough nutritious and high quality food for a growing world population in a sustainable way.
