Heineken NL sends a future changemaker to the Challenge

Heineken_LogoThree is the magic number, right? We can gladly announce that HEINEKEN NL (the Netherlands) has decided to join in the Global Challenge, in the wake of Nudge’s partnership with HEINEKEN USA and HEINEKEN Mexico!

HEINEKEN’s mission is to brew a better world. Whether the challenge is set by external organisations, consumers or themselves, HEINEKEN puts the energy transition challenge at the heart of its organisation. In June this year, four wind turbines have come on stream at the HEINEKEN Nederland brewery in Zoeterwoude. These wind turbines, with a joint capacity of 12 megawatts, supply more than 40% of the brewery’s energy supply. The installation of the solar energy systems was another step towards HEINEKEN’s aim of becoming a climate neutral organisation. In addition to solar energy, HEINEKEN Nederland also uses other sustainable energy sources, such as biogas from the water purification plants in Zoeterwoude and Den Bosch, hydropower in Wijlre and wind energy in Den Bosch.

Nudge shared great moments with the participants of HEINEKEN over the course of years and we are proud of such fruitful collaboration. To give an example, one of the company’s candidates, Stephanie Dexter, became one of the winners of the Global Challenge 2014. During the Nudge Global Leadership Challenge of 2015 HEINEKEN USA’s Dayna Adelman had a great time, too:

“Over the course of the three days I had the chance to network, collaborate and create with 30 of the brightest individuals I’ve ever met from 19 countries. I learned more about myself – and my purpose – than I ever could have imagined, and I walk away today with a strong sustainability impact plan that will revolutionize how we raise awareness about recycling in the United States.”

It is evident that HEINEKEN is truly committed to developing great leadership among its young professionals, as well as stimulating sustainability from within the company in its divisions all over the world. Nudge can only but applaud HEINEKEN’s  ambitious and impactful trend and we can’t wait to lift it to the next level during the Nudge Global Leadership Challenge 2016!
