Theme 2021: Rebalancing our planet

Facing reality is tough but necessary. Humanity has been neglecting Planet Earth and we are now confronted with the consequences of our actions. The ecosystems we all depend on are deteriorating more rapidly than ever. Social inequality is increasing. We have taken ownership of our planet, but it is time to reconsider the way we engage with it, ecologically, economically and socially. It is time to acknowledge the interdependence of nature and people.

We, as human beings, need to take our responsibility and nurture our planet. The earth is the most spectacular and inspiring gift, and we share it with all the other species that also depend on it. It is our home. Nature is our greatest inspiration and it has never been more crucial to protect the natural world. Together we must restore, celebrate and love our planet.

There is a great need for leaders to build a more sustainable future. We have to face the consequences of our actions and react with humility and courage. We need to be brave, daring and firm. Humanity needs audacious leaders to work towards our common goal of rebalancing our planet.
