The City of The Hague becomes Support Partner

Is there a city that is more suited to take part in the Nudge Global Leadership Challenge than the City of The Hague? We don’t think so! This year’s Challenge is all about Climate Change and World Peace, and The Hague is a pioneer in this field. The Hague is the international city of peace and justice. Here, every day, tens of thousands of people are working together to build a more peaceful, just and secure world. They work in
around 160 international organisations, hundreds of companies and knowledge centres. And also in the Peace Palace, the symbol of international justice for more than 100 years.

‘Legal capital of the world.’ It was no one other than the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Boutros Boutros-Ghali, who uttered these words to describe the unique position of The Hague. The Hague regularly features in the world news because international legal cases are tried in the many courts and tribunals, such as the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.

But The Hague is more than courts and tribunals. Government leaders, knowledge institutions, NGO’s, businesses and students come to The Hague from all over the world to work together on solutions to global problems. The Hague’s current role as host to international organisations and the international community is part of a tradition dating back more than 750 years. That’s why as far away as Sarajevo, Nairobi and Kabul, the name ‘The Hague’ represents hope: hope for millions of people that the crimes perpetrated against them will not go unpunished. Hope for a peaceful future.

To have the young talents of the City of The Hague participating is therefore a huge asset, both for The Hague and Nudge! Welcome to a wonderful Support Partner!
