Heineken Joins the Challenge 2020
We’re proud to announce that Heineken will once again be joining the Challenge 2020! From a single brewery in Amsterdam 150 years ago, Heineken has grown into the number one brewer in Europe and the most international brewer in the world. Their brand has become a staple for bars, restaurants, and stores globally. Beyond beer, Heineken also sets out to make a positive impact in the markets they operate and has incorporated sustainability into their business strategy.
Their sustainable development strategy, Brewing a Better World, looks at improving each of their activities, from sourcing, producing, marketing and selling their products, all the way to how they are consumed, and how they can reuse and recycle waste. For example, one of their sustainability focus areas is reducing CO₂ emissions across the value chain, so their target is to grow their renewable energy usage to 70% by 2030.
