Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment Support Partner for the 5th year in a row

The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (IenM) strives to have all parts of its administration operate in a sustainable manner by focussing on energy saving measures and the reuse of materials. Their sustainability report regarding the year 2016 showed the success of their approach: a decrease of 18% in CO2 emission compared to 2015! This makes IenM a perfect match for the Nudge Global Impact Challenge. Therefore, we at Nudge are very proud to announce IenM as Support Partner to the 2017 Challenge.

IenM has voiced the ambition to become climate neutral and 100% circular by 2030. By focussing on the good practices, that have resulted in a reduction of negative impact on the environment, and scaling them, IenM advances the transition from a linear to a circular economy. This fits right into the theme of this year’s Challenge: ‘GDP or SDG? Nudging young leaders towards sustainable economics’. IenM is very happy to have their young professionals participate in the Challenge. This allows them to work on their impact plans and effectuate change for a better world.

Given the current political attention for the challenges regarding climate change and goals set to reduce the negative effects of human behaviour on the environment, IenM has made initial strides to effectively reach their sustainability ambition. At Nudge, we are very happy to see this Ministry take a leading role with regard to this issue. Their worldwide collaborations and hands-on approach to positively impact the environment fits right into the ambition of the Challenge.
